Indamixx 2 Tablet Puts Musical Twist on Meego, Runs on Intel Atom

Indamixx is a company that has recently emerged on to the tablet scene and already they are shaking things up with their extremely alternative entry. They have just announced their latest creation — the Indamixx 2 slate device. As you might be able to guess from its name, it is all about making music on the go from a slate. As a working electronic music producer, paint me skeptical. Forging ahead, it features Intel’s single core Atom N450 processor as of now with 2GB of memory. Later, they plan to push it up to a dual core when it is times for release.

Intel Wants To Be a Major Player in Tablet Market

Intel is changing its direction and committing more and more engineering resources to the tablet market. After Apple shipped its iPad it became obvious that tablet market got its second birth and there is a strong potential for this market to grow and maybe even outgrow PC market.

At this moment most of the tablets are based on the ARM architecture. To change that and get more presence in this space Intel is going to work with tablet vendors to introduce several tablets based on Intel Atom platform. Specifically Intel is talking about “Pine Trail” dual-core platform. Devices based on this platform are expected to be 50% percent thinner than any netbook on the market today (except an iPad probably which is already 13.4mm in thickness). For example “Canoe Lake” netbook based on this platform is only 14mm thick which is pretty close to the current ipad 13.4mm measurement.
